Good morning!
There has been an error in Scheduling on Jan 3. We have 2 courts from 3:30 - 5:30pm, (not 4 as posted), and now 2 courts from 4:00 - 6:00pm. I will be dividing the group in 2, so 12 of you will move to 4pm start. Please review and if there are any issues, email gtpc(piste)plu(miuku)gmail(piste)com.
New play will be posted shortly for Jan 4 and Jan 5.
Have a great day.

Hi all.
We have managed to get a few time slots on Jan 3 at Monterra - as mentioned before, these are ad hoc time slots that we are trying to gather during posted “closure” time up to our regular programming Jan 8.
Play will be posted later today. Please no more than 2 sign ups a week.

To all GTPC members:

We’d like to bring to your attention life saving procedures , in event of an emergency.

Hosts must cover the emergency procedures BEFORE the game begins. This will take less than a minute to do.

We would like everyone to read the following steps that a host MUST carry out. (It may seem a lot at first to take in, but will soon become very easy to implement)

Hosts……
1) Identify 2 volunteers to immediately inform the front desk to call 911. If no one is at the front desk one of the volunteers must call 911. The reason for having 2 volunteers is that one of them may be the player in distress so now you already have a backup.
The operator will ask for the exact address of Monterra tennis dome. I have taped it onto the cart and on the cover of the white information binder.

2) Identify the location of the defibrillator to all players.
It is located on the wall next to the mens washroom in the lobby.
Next, identify 2 volunteers who can administer first aid and are willing to use the defibrillator.
Included are very clear instructions on how to use the AED. (Automated External Defibrillator). Anyone is allowed to use it. It’s advised to watch the following video from time to time. Copy this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkv2BrgLKa4

3) Identify 2 volunteers to flag down the ambulance from outside and guide them into the site

4) Host must point out the emergency exists around the courts. All of these double doors leading to the outside will open from the inside by pushing down on the handles.

In summary, Hosts must identify:
-2 volunteers to tell front desk to call 911
-2 volunteers to administer first aid
-2 volunteers to flag down ambulance
-Everyone to know where the emergency exits are.

One more bit of information - please write down your ICE (incase of emergency contact and phone number) on the edge or handle of your paddle. Do not write on the face if you play in tournaments as the paddle will be disqualified…

If you would like help as a host to cover the above procedures please let me know.

All of the above information was given to us (the board) by a concerned member whose club had these measures in place and saved a player’s life!

Have a safe and happy holiday season, Liz Bauer

Nancy

I am certified in First Aid and CPR and have AED training and would be happy to volunteer.

Cathy

Thank you to the board for putting these protocol’s in place. Hoping we never have to use them but if we do , having a plan in place certainly can save a life. Great YouTube link !

Happy and healthy holidays to ALL.

GTPC members - Incase of emergency…

I should also mention that as soon as the front desk calls “911”, Blue Mountain Security is alerted and they will arrive quickly to take over/assist. Timing is crucial so its important we know what we are doing incase security is help up elsewhere.

Good morning!
Play for January has been posted. We have made a few tweaks based on member feedback - keep it coming.
A few reminders: 1) please limit play to 2x per week. 2) we rely on volunteers to keep the club going - need court hosts for the month of January - please email gtpc(piste)plu(miuku)gmail(piste)com to host. If you are new to hosting and want to learn, we can set you up with a partner.
House league continues until January 26. A new session will start Feb 2. We will be sending out info mid January to get sign ups. Thank you Gord for all your work organizing our house league.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
