Good Day!
Play for the first 2 weeks of December is being posted shortly.
We have made changes based on lots of feedback. There is a desire to get more targeted, competitive play, and there is a desire to look at rankings.
We will accomplish these goals by adding in more “Ladder” and “House League” play. This methodology is where you play in your own group of 4 or 5 and play against every combination in the session. Next time you play with different folks. Scores are kept and tracked over the course of time. This fosters fun competition, enables folks to move up or down the rankings within ladder and helps establish a rationale for ranking. We encourage everyone to give it a go! We will have 2 sessions of Ladder, and Gord Martin has kindly volunteered to run 2 House League sessions that are also a ladder format. These will be managed as a group of 16 per session with spares. To participate in this 6 week session, please email Gord at gmartin(miuku)celernus(piste)com.
We still have lots of recreational play each week as well.
Play for last 2 weeks of December will be posted once we hear about potential closures at Monterra.
Enjoy the new formats!

Good morning!

1)We have a lot of space available in the 3.5+ play for tomorrow morning (we are committed to paying for all 4 courts). With that in mind, we are opening up play for the 8 - 9:30 Tuesday, Nov 21 to all skill levels - even if the schedule says 3.5+. The groups will be divided on site by skill so 3.5+ will still be on separate courts. Let’s get the space filled!

2) Looking for court hosts for Nov 23 Rec Play, Nov 28 3.5+ Play, Nov 30 Rec Play. Please volunteer at gtpc(piste)plu(miuku)gmail(piste)com

3) Play for the first 2 weeks of December will bee posted later today. We are making some changes after we received some great feedback about our programming thus far in Monterra - stay tuned!

Have a great day.

Yesterday I watched the Collingwood Santa Claus parade. The Collingwood Tennis Club had a group in the parade. I suggest GTPC consider doing something next year. Great way to let people as well as the Town know pickleball is in Collingwood.

Richard

Yes that is a good suggestion.

Lesya

Great idea, Brian! Let’s get some of our eager picklers thinking about it for next year for sure.

Paula

I apologize for my no show today. I went to cancel my Tuesday play for this week (hurt my back pickleballing this weekend) when I noticed my signup for today. Eek, I can't remember booking it! I'll make sure the dates are in my phone next time.

Richard

I’m have to cancel for tomorrow. Re- injured my calf yesterday. Not playing but just kicked a ball and… pop. So I’m out
